WBA Tournament Dates Set & More from Annual Meeting

The Wisconsin Baseball Association (WBA) directors have determined the tournament dates for the 2026 tournament:

  • Regionals / Semi-Finals – Friday, August 7th – Sunday, August 9th
  • Finals – Friday, August 14th – Sunday, August 16th

The tournament will continue to host Division A and B and have split champions with 24 teams per division. Four sites will host the regionals and two sites will host the finals. Team eligibility determined by leagues and WBA tournament committee on August 4th, 2026 seeding meeting. Location to be determined, but will be held in the Eau Claire area.

Four people joined the WBA board during the annual meeting:

  • Blake Johnson – Eau Claire Bears
  • Steve Eder – Glidden Orioles
  • Nolan Hutzler – Chippewa Falls LumberJacks
  • Jeff Kraschnewski – Whittlesey Reds

From attendees, the board learned of team changes in the following leagues:

  • Sparta – Folded from the Mississippi Valley League
  • Butternut – New team added in the Upper 13
  • Phillips – New team added in the Dairyland
  • Coon Valley – New team added in the Mississippi Valley League
  • Hillsboro – New team

The 2026 Wisconsin Baseball Assocation Championship Tournament hosts. (NOTE: All regional and final sites are still subject to change at this time.)

WBA Post Tournament Meeting

WBA Board of Directors meeting will be held on Sunday, October 5th between 12:30 PM and 2:30 PM at Sammy’s Pizza in Eau Claire. 

We are requesting at least one league officer or director to attend, along with our current directorial board. 

We will conduct an after action review / post-mortem of the 2025 playoffs as well as plan for some board membership changes for 2026. 

A formal financial statement from treasurer Sam Holden as well as reviewing a 2026 budget for the WBA and the WBA playoffs.

2025 WBA Regionals Determined

The Wisconsin Baseball Association’s 2025 Playoff Seeding meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, July 29th at Sammy’s Pizza in Eau Claire at 7 PM. Attendance of league officers, playoff site managers, and WBA Directors is expected.

Fish & Braves Take Home WBA Championships in First Year of Split Divisions

The River Falls Fighting Fish captured the Division A title defeating the Tilden Tigers 13-2 and the Osceola Braves took home the Division B title beating the Elmwood Expos 11-6.

Division A Finals

Spring Valley Hawks Deemed Ineligible for WBA Finals

The Spring Valley Hawks have been deemed ineligible for the Wisconsin Baseball Association (WBA) Division A finals due to use of an illegal player during regional action last week. The defending WBA state champs, Tilden Tigers, will now advance in place of Spring Valley and play the Chippewa Falls LumberJacks Friday, August 16th at 8:30 at First National Bank of River Falls Field.
